Chunk is a handsome Zangersheide stallion.   Alpine Show Jumpers acquired Chunk May 2020 as an un started 6 yr old. He has been completely uncomplicated and is catching up with lightning speed.  Schooling at home 1.10m+ with ease.  Chunk Showed in both hunters and jumpers at RMSJ August 2020 after only being under saddle for a short time.  He had consistent placing in the hunter ring and clear rounds in the jumper ring. 

 

Chunk is the most comfortable horses in the barn with a canter that riders dream of.  He is light in the air and in the hand and his natural balance makes the job of the rider easy as all you need to do is sit and steer.  He makes riding a pleasure. 

 

Chunk lives easily in the barn and has no idea he is a stallion.  He is very easy to handle on the ground and requires no chain and leads like a gelding.  He travels to the shows on the trailer with others and was a star when traveling to the mountains and tied the tree during lunch like a pro. 

 

Chunks pedigree is packed with amazement.  His sire Chopin himself jumped 1.60m with Christian Ahlmann of Germany and was responsible for helping him achieve his world #1 ranked show jumper.  Chopin has classic Holsteiner foundation lines of Capito I x Caletto II.  Chopin is a proven producer with offspring in the international ring.   Chunk’s dam is by Luxury Z (going back to Le Sauvage) x Ramiro. 

 

Alpine has been reluctant to geld Chunk due to his amazing pedigree and the fact that he is so uncomplicated to handle and ride.  We feel that Chunk has so many opportunities in his life.  He is certainly stylish and classic enough to be a top open hunter.  He has scope to go to the top of sport as a show jumper and in the equitation ring.  We see an opportunity for a young up and coming pro to enjoy developing him further into sport along with beginning their own small breeding operation. The option to geld and have a fabulous gelding is also possible.
